Welcome to Pack 216Starting out in scouting can be the most exciting thing that you have done with your son.But what exactly does being a scout parent entail?
Help us get to know you. Please take the time to fill out our Family Talent Survey Sheet. This sheet will not only allow us to see what interests you and your family have, it also helps us to ensure that we can make you a part of our program as well.
Now that you have let your den leader know what you enjoy doing, and where you are willing to help out, it is time to begin the fun. During your den activities your scout will inevitably make his was through his rank requirements and various electives. We use an online tracking web site at http://scoutbook.com to track the progress he makes along the way. Pack 216 also utilizes Scoutbook for our primary communications, event tracking, and reservations. Upon joining the pack you should receive an invitational email, if not please let your den leader know as soon as possible.

Before the outdoor trips and activities ensue, please take the time to get your youth protection training (YPT) certificate. This training protects our scouts from many different scenarios, and the more people that take the time to certify themselves, the safer our scouts are. It is a simple half hour long course, and is required of all adults that will be joining us on activities. You can receive this, and many other training courses free at https://my.scouting.org
So you have a basic grasp on how things in the pack work, and have let us know what you are interested in, we would love for you to consider volunteering for a leadership position. If you have not already done so on the Family Talent Survey Sheet please fill out a Volunteer Form and let us know what interests you. Not all positions are always available, but we can always use your help in making our scout program the best it can be.
