Pack 216 is heading to San Angelo State Park this year for our first family campout. Family camp out's are meant for the families in the pack to get together and enjoy a relaxing weekend with one another. It is a great time to sit and really get to know one another in an environment that is not quite as structured as most of our activities tend to be. Our boys will still have the opportunity to take part in many activities that will help towards their rank throughout our stay, but will also be free to play among themselves.

Pack 216 has reserved many campsites already, so please do not make your own reservations at this time (unless staying in a Limited Service Cabin). The campsites that we have reserved have water and electric connections available and were $20 a night, we do ask that you repay the pack upon arrival. The pack has also reserved the closest Group Picnic Pavilion (Chaparral Campground Area) for us to use throughout our stay as well. If you are new to camping and do not have access to anything to join us there are also Limited Service Cabins available close by starting at $50 a night. For more information on the Limited Service Cabins please visit here. The Limited Service Cabins are available on a first come first serve basis through the park, if you decide you would like to reserve a Limited Service Cabin instead of using one of our campsites please contact the park and make your own reservations.

Swimming at your own risk is allowed in O.C. Fisher Lake. Lake Nasworthy and Twin Buttes Reservoir offer swimming and fishing and are approximately a 10-minute drive from the park. Want to fish but do not have tackle of your loan, no problem. The park offers a "Tackle Loan Program" where you can borrow rods, reels, and tackle boxes complete with hooks, sinkers, and bobbers.

The pack has also scheduled a tour of the park with an interpretive ranger from the park. On this tour the boys will have the chance to visit ancient Permian animal tracks and Indian petroglyphs among many other attractions. It should be a great tour and offer many fun learning opportunities along the way.
