Dinosaur Valley State Park Camp Out 05/04/2018-05/06/2018
For our the last pack campout of the year Pack 216 has decided on Dinosaur Valley State Park. At this point in the scouting year we will that everyone should be comfortable enough to trek out a little bit further, and feel that the scouts will really love this state park. If your family is still in need of any camping gear of supplies, please just let a pack leader know and we will gladly find anything that you need to attend.
Things to do
Dinosaur Valley State Park offers an endless amount of fun with many activities including locating dinosaur tracks, hiking, mountain biking, swimming and fishing in the river, watching for wildlife, and looking for a geocaches.
Want to go fishing but forgot to pack your tackle? No worries the park also offer tackle rental at the park store.
Dinosaur Valley State Park also offers a Junior Ranger Program that not only teaches the kids about the park and the area but allows them to earn an award for doing so. Pick up a free Junior Ranger Activity Journal at headquarters. If you arrive early enough you may even be able to check out a Junior Ranger Explorer Pack that typically has things like binoculars, compasses, etc. Complete tasks to earn a badge.
Fees and Facilities
The pack will be covering the Camp Site fees for all families attending this camp out. Every camp site that we reserved does have water and electricity available.
The pack has also reserved the Group Picnic Pavilion for Saturday, and we will be using this as the meeting hub throughout the day Saturday.
Each family will still be responsible for covering the park fees that will be required at check in. These fees are currently $7 for anyone over 13 years of age, and anyone 12 or younger get in free.

The park is located four miles west of Glen Rose. Take U.S. Highway 67 to FM 205 for four miles to Park Road 59; then go one mile to the headquarters. Use the honor box located at headquarters to pay fees after office hours.
